Just Do It

So what are you waiting for? Are you making those typical excuses again? You’ve said you would start that thing you were supposed to time and time again, and as time has passed you haven’t gotten anywhere, and you’ve achieved nothing. When are you going to get off your butt and stop making excuses? When are you going to walk the talk?
We all have these great grand plans, of how we’re going to transform our lives into this wonderful vision we have for ourselves, but so many of you simply don’t have the cahones to make it happen. Sorry, I don’t mean to sound overly negative, but I think this is something you need to hear. Read this now and think of yourself. This isn’t about me. This is about you. You are holding yourself responsible for where you want to be, because it ultimately falls on no-one else but you.
We’ve all heard that famous running shoe slogan “Just Do IT”… How true it is. Just do it already. What have you got to lose? There is no reward without taking risks, no glory without spilling your guts. As I write this, I know if there is something you want, I know you can have it. I know because I was just like you, feeling sorry for myself, little self-worth, I didn’t believe I was capable of my dreams and even worse I didn’t think I deserved them. The very fact that I am writing this to you is my commitment to myself in striving to pursue my dreams. I’ve always wanted to be a writer. I’ve wanted to follow my passions… now I am. With that opportunity, I’ve decided to help people anyway I know how to follow their dreams and passions too. I know first-hand how awesome that freedom feels.
It’s time now to start taking the steps to put your life in order so you can take action. Philosophies are great, but their words are empty if you don’t practice them. Your philosophy is useless to you if you continue to sit on your rump and do nothing. Sure, stick with the status quo if you like. We both know it’s taking you nowhere.
Life is a process, a journey. It’s not a blob of cement that sits there cold and hard and without form. You are meant to evolve and grow. You are meant to take the right road, even if it’s hard. Not the high road because it takes less effort. Just do it because you want to be happy. Just do it because you want to live the dream. Just do it because no-one will do it for you. Today is the day you finally do it. Excuses end, and the journey begins. Just do it.

I believe people get into a habit of life…theyhave not set the bar that high for themselves. They talk themselves out of their dream of being something bigger before they even get started.
If you really and desperately want to make a change here is some advice:
Get out of your head and get into your conscious mind. For your conscious mind is the filter for you sub conscious you sub conscious controls your actions.
Surround yourself with people who are a positive influence on your life and who are people you admire for where they are at mentally, personally and spiritually.
Join a networking group of like minded individuals(meetup.com)you will come away inspired and charged up.
Work out…get your blood pumping daily.
Lay off the booze/drugs…it acts as a depressent and will not help you out in
the long haul it will only hurt your progress.
Get out and enjoy the natural highs of life and challenge your fears…do/learn something new it creates/builds confidence.
These were just some of the things I have done and it has created a momentous shift in my life…I’m enjoying and engaged in life for the first time in many years.
Be well…you can do it!
Hi Diane,
Great observations! You’re absolutely right. People have learned to talk themselves out of so many possibilities. Brainwashed themselves if you will. Taking those thoughts and putting them into action, will allow them to be the person they truly want to be.
Otherwise it’s just wishful thinking!

This is a great article Elliot. See what happens when you just do it! Seriously it’s just what i needed to read. You’re so correct, I only have myself to thank or to blame for the life I’m living. For me it’s about setting clear goals and taking one step at a time. No one else can walk my path! Thanks again and best wishes. Reed.
